Latest developments from BioSNG Demonstration Plant

Tetronics have partnered with Advanced Plasma Power, Cadent Gas and Progressive Energy to construct the world’s first BioSNG Commercial Demonstration Plant. The plant will take in 10,000 tonnes of waste from the local area and produce 22GWh of BioSNG, enough to heat 1,500 homes. Tetronics plasma technology lies at the heart of the process in allowing the gasification of waste into green gas.

The BioSNG Commercial Demonstration project is progressing well and the plant should start operation in the second half of 2018.

Civils work is nearly complete and equipment is starting to arrive. ADI, who are responsible for mechanical and electrical integration, have been on site for a month now. Britannia Construction, the civils contractor, are due to complete their work in the next week.

Equipment is being manufactured across the UK and beyond. The wet gas cleaning equipment is being assembled in Surrey and will arrive on site in September while methanation equipment will be brought down from Liverpool in October. The gasifier will ship from the US in two months’ time and will be the last package on site when it arrives in November.

  1. Gentlemen,

What a wonderful project. Being in on the first successful Tetronics Plasma operation (PGM) from the beginning in 1984 it is exciting for to see a project like this come to fruition. I think it has great promise. I would love to see your facility one day.
